Long-distance move from Preston, MN to Meadview, AZ

Horrible moving company

A bunch of our furniture was gouged, a corner broke off the coffee table, glass smashed on an antique corner hutch and a missing box of some very precious pictures:( No one calls back when they say they will…NEVER AGAIN!!

Efficient and great bang for your buck!

Diego's team exceeded all of my moving expectations. They were incredibly efficient, and moved all of my stuff out of an apartment, disassembled my bed, and moved everything and assembled my bed at a townhouse with two flights of narrow stairs. They handled everything with so much care, made sure to point out any existing damage on my furniture, and were done in less than three hours. They arrived to my apartment on time and gave me a heads up call as well! I truly cannot say enough good things, and I know there are a lot of not so good reviews on here so I was skeptical... as long as you do your part in packing efficiently and having everything ready to go, prepare to have your mind blown!! I will be recommending AB Moving to all friends and family moving forward!!

Please read BBB and all web reviews before hiring AB Moving.

I recently engaged AB Moving (AB) for a residential move, an experience that has left me deeply troubled. While I cannot definitively accuse anyone, I feel compelled to share my experience and concerns regarding the disappearance of valuable jewelry during the moving process.

We enlisted AB's services during a chaotic period when we had to reschedule our moving date at the last minute. Consequently, our contract with AB was limited to moving only large items and a few pre-packed boxes. At the time of the move, there were still personal items visible in the house as I was in the process of packing and intended to complete the move over the following two days. The circumstances were hectic, with the need to vacate one house while finalizing arrangements for the other amidst numerous other pressing matters.

Following the completion of the move, I discovered that seven pieces of jewelry were missing from our previous residence. These items included three silver and gold bracelets, a blue topaz ring with diamonds, a smaller sapphire ring, and, most significantly, my great-grandmother's diamond necklace with diamond chain. While I acknowledge that I should have been more vigilant and not left these items visible, I am certain that all seven pieces were not misplaced or lost during the move. Given that I had these items in my possession the day prior and placed them in their usual spot the night before, I am deeply troubled by their disappearance.

While I understand that accidents can occur during a move, the mysterious disappearance of valuable items raises serious questions about the integrity of the moving crew. The timing and circumstances surrounding their disappearance are deeply concerning and have left me feeling violated and distrustful, particularly considering the crew had unsupervised access to the house.

Upon contacting AB to express my concerns, it took several attempts to reach Trey Frazier, whom I was informed was the supervisor of the crew. Despite my efforts, AB was unable to provide me with the names of the other two movers, although I managed to ascertain the name of the crew leader, Jesus Reyes. After days of no response or follow-up from Mr. Fraizer or anyone else from AB, I decided to contact the Grayson County Sheriff’s office to file a report.

During their investigation, I discovered that although the movers were driving an AB Moving van, they were hired as subcontractors, and the Sheriff's office was unable to obtain their identities through AB Moving. This revelation is deeply suspicious and raises serious doubts about AB Moving's hiring practices and how they represent themselves as having employees entering your home and moving your personal belongings.

Moving is inherently stressful, and the additional concern of missing valuables has significantly heightened my frustration. I firmly believe that the actions of a few individuals have the can tarnish the reputation of an entire company. Furthermore, I suspect that situations similar to mine may not be uncommon, with subcontractors exploiting the chaotic nature of the moving process to pilfer items. Homeowners may not realize the theft within a practical timeframe, attributing it to misplaced or inadvertently discarded items. This possibility only exacerbates the distress of those undergoing a move and underscores the critical need for heightened vigilance and safeguards when entrusting belongings to moving companies.

I urge anyone considering AB Moving or any moving company to exercise extreme caution and take additional precautions to safeguard their belongings during the moving process. It is essential to request identification from each mover entering your home, as AB Moving appears to have no knowledge of the individuals they hire and assumes no responsibility for their actions.

In conclusion, my experience with AB Moving has left me deeply unsettled and regretful. By sharing my ordeal, I hope to empower others to make informed decisions when selecting a moving company. Do not leave anyone moving your belongings unattended in any part of your home.

This investigation with the Grayson County Sherriff is ongoing as I have not received and response from anyone associated with AB Moving.

Missed move window then destroyed washer.

I had scheduled a move for 12:30 - 3 on Thursday, August 29 with AB Moving.  Due to some issues our lender misplacing a signed form that was needed, we ended up delayed.  I was told our closing would be pushed back to 2 PM, at which point I called and asked if it was possible to push my move back or ensure they would not arrive until 3 PM.  I was told that there was a truck with a flat and everyone was running behind and I couldn't be fit in later that day, but I could move to Friday, Aug. 30, between 4 – 7 PM.  I agreed to that move date and time and noted to contact me if anything happened to open up Thursday, making sure to note I had to be out of my storage facility by end of month.  I did not hear from AB Moving again until I contacted them Friday at 5 PM to confirm I was on the schedule and they would not be past 7 PM since I was moving out of an unlit storage facility.  I was assured I was and they would call me when 30 minutes out.  .  I had left work early to change and be ready to get over to our storage location as soon as they called.  As 7 PM approached I headed over to the storage facility to ensure I would not hold them up as we would now be working against the sun setting and lack of light.  At 7:40, I got a call stating they did not know where the drivers where or how far out and he (the dispatcher) was trying to track them down.  I told him that there was no light once the sun went down at this storage facility and that it was setting so I needed them quickly.  I also stated that if I didn't get out of the unit I had to pay for another month.  He called back 10 minutes later (now 7:50) to report they were an hour out and maybe could get there around 9 PM (after sundown).  I told him there was no point and it wouldn't be safe to move try and move unless they were equipped with spotlights.  He said he would see what he could do Saturday.  I requested Saturday morning as I already had plans Saturday that I could not reschedule.  When he called back I was only offered late Saturday, and that was not a firm commitment just an “if they could squeeze me in”.  I ended up having to schedule for Sunday and pay $144.00 because AB Moving did not meet their contracted appointment time window    Sunday, three men arrived within the time I had been given.  They did work quickly.  They did not, however, work extremely safely or carefully, choosing to forgo the appliance dolly that was sitting on the ground.  While moving my washing machine they apparently (I did not see what happened as I wasn't watching them at the time and only heard the crash) lost their balance while heading up the ramp to the truck and the washing machine toppled over onto the front.  The damage to the machine was extensive.  The electrical is completely shot and I was advised by four washing machine repair men it was not worth trying to fix.  The piece that holds the drum in cracked where the screws hold it down and it doesn't function any longer, the body is cracked and scratched and dented.  The entire electrical compartment has broken loose; the water drain in the back broke loose so if you try and attach a drain hose it just recedes into the washer.  All this to say it is shot, forcing us to purchase a new washer.  Our model is not available so we had to purchase another washer for $800 to get a comparable quality washer (the one that was broken was 1299.00 when new six years ago).     I am now out $944 (144 800) due to negligence of AB Moving.  I understand things happen, I also understand that the standard insurance required is measured in pounds and doled out at $0.60 per lb, but I am now out $944 because of AB Movings lack of ability to meet a contract and negligence by their crew while loading (it is one thing to take proper precautions and have an accident, it is another to have an accident when not using the available proper precautions even though you advertise you are professional trained movers who will take every precaution).  .

AB Movers is one of the worst movers you can ever find.

I called AB Movers and asked if they are specialized in moving Piano and they said yes and created the schedule by saying you have full insurance for the move. I even got an email with fully insured. They literally broke my piano in the move and after delivering they said you can file claim and charged for the move. I called the customer service and it always goes to voice message and after leaving voice message nobody will return to the call. I called and clicked option to talk to scheduler and someone picked and told them to connect to customer service in claims. Finally they sent email to file claim and I told them I am fully insured and they denied it and they said they can only pay $300 for piano worth of $2400.

Please do not go with these movers if you have to move expensive items.

Broken TV, damaged furniture, no response from customer care.

DO NOT USE THEM!

First, they forged a signature on my contract which we never went over, broke my $1700 tv, damaged the floors to my place, damaged my dining table, chipped a nightstand, and broke part of my sectional couch.

Offered me $250. I pointed out the clear forgery of the contract and the customer care guy agreed with me. I couldn’t get anyone on the phone or replies from customer care via email after that conversation. All I wanted was a reasonable settlement for the thousands of dollars of property damage they did.

Will have to file a claim against them through the Better Business Bureau to seek punitive damages.

Do Not Use Them!

DO NOT USE THEM FOR YOUR MOVE! I have never been treated so poorly in all my life. The manager called to bring his movers out of the rain while they were in mid-move from my apartment.  When, I called him saying I had to be out by midnight, the manager actually yelled at me and called me a b^tch!  Wow!  All b/c I wanted them to finish my move (which was completely protected from the weather.  So, they had to unpack the van and leave me completely stranded.  Hello, it's a one-bedroom apartment - it would have taken them like 30 mins to do the whole move.  Well, they unpacked in a hurry and broke/damaged/scratched TONS of things of mine. My boyfriend called the manager back and the manager threatened to kick his a$$.  Uh, real professional (?//).  Simply b/c I wanted them to complete the job I hired them for.  Well, they left me stranded, didn't care, and the manager cursed at me and my boyfriend.  DO NOT USE THEM. So unprofessional.

Life Savers!!

AB MOVERS saved my move !! I was stood up by another company (Houston Move for Less - no call no show) and at the last minute I had to find a new moving company. I explained my situation and the worked with me to accommodate a special rate and even threw in a 3rd man for free! The AB Movers provided a courtesy call, showed up on time, completed my “two locations to the 3rd floor” move in 2.5 hours!!
I actually spent about the same amount of money as I would have with the first movers.. giving that I gave them a very generous tip!!

AB Moving.

I found AB Moving on a moving company rating website and decided to use them based on their very reasonable price quote, relatively high customer ratings, and local proximity in Carrollton, TX.

They proved to be an excellent choice as they arrived on time, got everything packed and loaded on the truck incredibly fast, and then got everything unloaded at my new house 10 miles away. From the time they arrived at my old home to the time they left at my new home was only 3 hours! Since they charge by the hour, the cost was actually lower than I expected at only $292. My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is that their 3 movers were packing my stuff so fast that I had to stop them a couple of times so that I did not lose track of the items they were packing (the 3 movers were all Hispanic and did not speak good English). Overall, they did the job very well, very quickly, and at a very reasonable price.

Did not honor a contract and left the job without working.

Jan 16th, Mr Mike from Houston AB Moving company called me at least 4 times with an offer to move my apartment for a flat rate special of $299 for 3 men 3 hour for a job on Jan 18th (arrival time in between 11am - 1pm) from zip code 77598 to 77084. We agreed on contract because he sounded confident and professional at first

On jan 18th, I called mike at 12.30 pm to confirm that the movers are coming and he tells me that they are running an hour late that the original time set of 11-1pm. After patiently waiting for  hour, I call them back at 1.30 pm and left Mike a voicemail and requested him to return my call.

At 3.00 pm, my patience ran out and I called him back and he informs me that the movers should be arriving in 30 mins and they will call once they are 15 mins away from the apartment

At 4.00 pm, the movers call me and inform me that they will be arriving in 1 hour. I.e. by 5:00 pm which is 4 hours late than the original agreed time. I try to reach Mike from AB moving company and as expected, he didn't answer my call even after leaving him a new voicemail

At 5.00 pm, the movers arrive and, I have never seen so untidy people. They were sweating from top to bottom with one guy not wearing his T-shirt and other guy spitting all over the apartment property. One mover looked almost seemed to be 14 year old (although I cannot confirm it because I didn't ask him for an I.D). I requested them to behave professionally since my Wife was at home and it is highly unacceptable to behave this way.

They started walking upstairs with me and reaching up the third floor, the mover shows me his contract and says that this was supposed to be on second floor and not third. So to resolve the conflict, I called Mike (again), and fortunately, this time he did answer his phone and confirmed that the job was from 3rd floor - 3rd floor. He said he will talk to the movers and get back to me.

After an hour long conversation, and intimidation from the movers to pay more, the movers declined to work and left the job unattended.

To summarize AB Moving company - Unprofessional, Untidy, Uninformed, Rude, Worthless.
They left me and my wife and walked away from a job even after a singed contract which clearly says 3rd floor - 3rd floor

After all this, I called the Main Branch of AB Moving somewhere in Dallas and the manager in turn started with his false accusations of me cursing at the movers which apparently was the reason for them leaving which never even happened.

DO NOT IN ANY CONDITION USE THESE MOVERS.

Do Not Use This Company.

If I could give less stars I would. I used Jorge Espinoza's moving team on 6/16/18 and my engagement ring was stolen during the move. This was after I paid $1150 for the move and tipped $300. There were no other people in my house besides the 3 movers, my husband and myself. I filed a claim with the company escalating ultimately to the owner Kenny Baker because none of the representatives showed any interest or concern in the theft. The OWNER Kenny Baker told me this was a case of he said she said and he treated me as if I instead was the their. The owners exact words were “what do you want me to do about it?”
Do not use this company they have no morals and do not care about you as the customer. Their insurance is bogus and they will do anything to get out of covering your items.

Slow!!

Very slow movers!! Each time we have moved, we used movinghelp.com and was done within 2 hours with 2 movers. It took this company 2 hours just to load the truck with 3 men!! Also, two men took a dump in our bathrooms without asking nor stopping the clock, we didn't know until they needed toilet paper..how nasty and unprofessional! My family had to help load and unload because they were so slow!! We paid over $500 and still have a garage full of boxes to take upstairs into our home. I would never recommend or use them again. They were leaving the house with one item on the dolly and wrapping furniture that my husband had already done! I think this was to try to make the move longer so they could profit more since it was hourly! Never again!! Negative 5 stars!! We paid for 4 hours and still have to move several boxes ourselves..not happy!!

Worst movers in Texas!

Worst moving company in Texas, avoid like the plague!! Had a crew come out and refuse to do a move, which forced me to have to reschedule and lose thousands of dollars in truck reservations. The second crew that came out did a decent job but told me that this kind of stuff happens all the time. There is no accountability. Individual crews may just decide not to show up on time or do the job at all and there's nothing you can do about it. Corporate offered me "$50 off my next move" which is a joke considering the thousands I lost. Pick a reliable company next time, it's worth it.

Never again

Well i try not to do bad reviews on companies because everyone is trying to make a living. After the experience I had yesterday/thus morning with AB Moving. I will not be silent. Brace yourself because this review it a long one:

When i booked my service I was told I would have six men and two “trucks”. Instead I got six men and two trailers.

My heart dropped when they arrived. When i booked the service i was very transparent with the fact that i have over 100 boxes and bags and a lot of furniture and miscellaneous items. I thought that two trucks would be the same as my neighbors that moved the day before with two men and a truck. They had two 18 wheelers type moving trucks & 4men. Their home was way bigger with way more things than i had and all their stuff fit with room to spear.

The individuals under the crewmen were very professional and personable. But the hispanic man that led the second crew was not. He felt comfortable enough to tell my daughter, “ if i new you guys more closely , I would tell your mother not to buy do many things”

First off how dare he. His job is to move my things no matter what! Secondly, you don't address my daughter if you have an issue with my decisions and third don't tell me how to spend my money. Then because he refused to bring my fridge in and said the crew that had already left will do it. This resulted in me having to throw away all my refrigerated items because it took the first crew a while to get back here, remove my front door to get the fridge in.

While moving me the guy over the first crew complained that he doesn’t usually move bags. (“I told the person I scheduled with that I will need to use bags for the food after I was told to take it out. Meat can’t defrost in boxes”) He proceeded to complain that he is use to boxes and the bags will throw his back out. Mind you i only used the contractor bags for the food i was told that I had to clear out my freezers for the movers and our covers.

Only to be told that i never had to remove my meats nor have the freezer defrosted, which ruined most of my meat overnight. I was told by the movers that i only had to remove breakables. So dispatch gave me information that cost me half the meats in my upright freezer and half in my chest freezer.

Then one truck had to make a trip 1 hour and 30 minutes one way back to my old place to get the items that wouldn’t fit in the two trailers on the first trip. I specifically told the guy over the first crew that i wanted my safe on the first load. He assured me that it would be. Only for him to claim he forgot and left it for the second load. I plan on going through it today to make sure nothing is missing considering he left here around 3 something heading to get what he claimed was only a few large items and didn't make it back until almost 11pm. For a table set and only a few mire items according to him.

He called me at 4:08 pm after he left and asked for the third time if I wanted him to close out my ticket because of the time is still running and he was finishing up a 30 minute break. He seemed not to want to bring my other items. I explained that i had no other way to get my things which is why i booked them. Well it end it was over $1300 for one truck and over $2600 for the second one which was 15.15 hours on the second truck which put them at 12:15 the next morning finishing up. Mind you they started at 8:30am.

I will never use or recommend this moving service to anyone else. I am very disappointed with the equipment and the crew leaders. The crews under them were awesome but the leaders fell short and it it cost me over $3900 just to move a 2800sq house. It would have been cheaper had I used two men and a truck like my neighbors because they were done moving them completely within 4-6 hours.

Worst moving experience ever

We hired a 3 man crew to move our 1 bedroom apartment. We told the company upfront what items we had and how many boxes. It took them over 7 hours, when previously it only took 4 hours to move our stuff in previous moves. My husband had to help them load and unload boxes and move furniture because they were struggling. They even damaged our antique piano. They told us during the move they may not be able to fit everything on the truck and we’d have to hire movers again to move the rest. They did a horrible job at packing the truck and didn’t put all of our items on the truck. We had to come back multiple times to load the remaining ourselves in our cars - and I am 4 months pregnant. We hired the cleaning service and the maid took 3 hours and didn’t even finish. She said she’d be back the following morning and never showed. We kept calling the company and they kept saying “we’ll call you back” and they never would. We had to finish cleaning the apartment ourselves. In that 3 hours the maid didn’t even mop, clean the drawers/cabinets, oven, or toilet. We will never use this company again and don’t recommend them to anyone.

They never showed up

I waited for 3.5 hours for them to show up and they simply never did. During that time I called no fewer than 3 times and was told by the supervisor someone would call me with an ETA - no one called. At the 3.5 hour mark I made one final call only to discover the business was closed for the day. Fantastic professionalism there AB Movers! I’m now with the panic inducing and impossible task of finding another mover on Memorial Day who can do it with no notice. That they would do this to someone is unbelievable.

*updated* they called at the 4 hour mark and told me the supervisor would call about rescheduling for tomorrow…big surprise, it’s been an hour and no one has called. Whatever this company used to be, they are dishonest and unreliable now.

Not Worth $1,324

NOT WORTH $1,324.00. The last move I had included the same furniture and driving distance but it took them over 3 hours longer. When I asked why it took them an hour and 15 minutes to drive from Frisco to Dallas the mover laughed at me and said it was 45 miles away. It’s was actually 21 miles away. If you chose to use them then you will need to micro manage them. I don’t like being taken advantage of and being lied to. Oh and even though I paid for three movers.
